The vivid memories of my childhood stocked up on my sleeve like a bracelet your best friend gave you to resemble your everlasting friendship
Papá swept away the lilacs in the window shield
The constant hangouts with navy blue máneles filling the table with crumbs and laughter
Returning from her origin country, Abuelita sends out dulces de Mexico and some recollecting of our ancestry
Dulcet melodies coming from Abuelita
And when the earthquake shock, Abuelita kept me safe in her arms
To a place of security and setting I called home
