Soda Cans & Cedar Trees - A Poem

Forelsket - the euphoria attuned when you fall in love foremost
He was an ordinary height
A full moon away to turn a teenager
Chestnut fuzz that mainly takes up his face
Hidden under an argentine pullover
That scared the werewolves away
Faster than the urban nymphs
At the peach colored house
In Front of the academia
We came up with a game
Once we were done with Canada Dries and MUG root beer
We were to crumble the cans in half
Using brown twine from Michael's
Tie the pop-tops and attach it to his tree
In his front yard, there were different kinds of Cedar trees
Three barely developed spanish cedars
Two ingrowing eastern whites
But the one he claimed was the developed Lebanon
With our initials carved using his older sister's dagger
A.J + C.C in a medical heart shape
I knew his favorite kind of book genre
Before I knew his birthday
Who even reads classic literature at twelve?
He invited me to his house
Before we had a chance to meet his other friends
Is this the kind of romance they talk about in books?
I beg to differ
He made me believe in standards
Picking apart flaws like stars
For the astrologists have reason that
Your zodiac sign is a part of you
Two immature Aquarians
Ignoring the romantic feelings that were requite
A new chapter of our lives unfolded
Two more crushed soda cans attached to the cedar tree
His back was turned at graduation
He finally wore color
And yet he refused to say goodbye
